What’s this piece all about?
I spent years of my life obsessed with Jimi Hendrix. His innovation, style, insecurities, and bravery were inspirational to me. I painted this one summer. I love painting with color but I felt the need to mute his color into a greyscale because I felt that his larger-than-life style often clouds so many of his other qualities. This piece is very special to me and lived in my bedroom for years.
